I Central Asian Journalism Seminar dedicated to the International Day of Universal Access to Information

I Central Asian Journalism Seminar dedicated to the International Day of Universal Access to Information “Access to Information: Strengthening Academic Influence” will be held.

In connection with the UNESCO resolution of November 17, 2015 (38 C / 70), September 28 was proclaimed International Day of Universal Access to Information. This International Day is of particular importance for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and in particular target 16.10 of the Sustainable Development Goals, which calls for public access to information and the protection of special freedoms.

The aim of the event: to draw attention to the importance of ensuring access to information for the implementation of activities in the field of sustainable development in Central Asia.

Scientific discussions will take place in the following areas:

Ensuring public access to information;

Journalism Education for Sustainable Development Goals;

Access to the information. Review of the laws of the Central Asian countries.

The seminar will be organized in collaboration with the UN Information Bureau in the Republic of Kazakhstan and al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Professors, students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the journalism department of universities will attend the seminar from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Karakalpakstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and the country’s media. Travel expenses at the expense of the sending party.
