ISESCO
The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) is a specialized organization dealing with issues of education, science, culture, and communication in Muslim countries with the aim of strengthening ties between member states.
The goals of ISESCO are:
- Strengthening, promoting, and deepening cooperation among member states in the fields of education, science, culture, and communication, as well as promoting and developing these areas within the civilized framework of the Islamic world and in the light of Islamic human values and ideals;
- Enhancing mutual understanding among peoples within and beyond member states, as well as contributing to the establishment of peace and security in the world through various means, especially through education, science, culture, and communication;
- Promoting the correct image of Islam and Islamic culture, fostering dialogue among civilizations, cultures, and religions, as well as working to disseminate the values of justice and peace, the principles of freedom and human rights in accordance with the Islamic civilized vision;
- Promoting cultural interaction and supporting the diversity of its manifestations in member states while preserving cultural authenticity and protecting intellectual independence;
- Strengthening complementarity and coordination between the specialized institutions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, and communication and between ISESCO member states, as well as strengthening cooperation and partnership with similar governmental and non-governmental institutions with common interests, both within and beyond member states;
- Giving attention to Islamic culture, highlighting its characteristics, and disseminating its features in intellectual, scientific research, and educational programs;
- Working on complementarity and interdependence between education systems in member states;
- Supporting the efforts of educational, scientific, and cultural institutions of Islamic states that are not members of ISESCO.
