«Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): capacity building and knowledge transfer»

Organized by the Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development, Global Hub of United Nations Academic Impact on Sustainability, Model UN New Silk Way, “Green Bridge through Generation” Program, UNESCO Chair on Sustainability and “Alma-Mater of Journalism Club”

Hosted by the MDP Global Classroom Program

In Celebrating the UN World Science Day (November 10), the students, faculty and guest speakers will discuss the background, development and current phase of the SDGs and implication for implementation of the SDGs on the developing countries in the Central Asian region.

They fill focus on several issues. First is the background and emergence of the concept of sustainable development from the Brundtland Report to Rio+20 conference. Second is the focus on the emerging vision of Sustainable Development Goals and UN Global agenda 2030 (SDG). Third is the focus on the implementation of the SDGs in the context of the recent economic, social and environmental development in Kazakhstan and Central Asia

Date: November 06, 2018 from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Participants: graduate, doctoral and senior undergraduate students from the Law, Chemistry, Journalism, Geography, FFIP, Economics and International Relations faculties.

GUESTS: we expect that the representatives of the UNIC, UNAI, MUN NSW and other guest speakers will contribute to the event.
